Great start for the Elite Fencers in Marburg International competition. The competition held more than 400 fencers in different age groups.
Ireland represented 4 fencers from the ADRIAN LEE&PARTNERS ELITE JUNIOR FENCING PROGRAM in this competition.
The first day started with the U11 girls foil and U13 boys foil competition. After the start, Erika Sanvito and Leon Gautier fenced well in the poule and got undefeated in the direct elimination with a great fencing. Both of them become the Champion of Marburg.
In the same day was also the U15 girls foil competition. Dasha Lee represented Ireland in the strong field, and got the 3’rd place with a very tactical fencing in the end.
After the first success day comes the second one was more difficult for the Irish fencers.
In the U15 boys foil competition were many well experienced foil fencres too. Leon Gautier represented Ireland in this age group. He fenced well in the poule and the direct elimination. In the top 8 he become the 5’th place.-what is a great results from him.
In the U15 woman foil Alice Peardon fenced. She did a very technical fencing during the competition. Unfortunatelly Alice lost 15-14 to go to the final and got the 11’th place.
